INTRODUCTION TO SUSTAINABLE FOOD PRODUCTION

During this six week online class , you will learn about the art and science of growing food through a flexible online learning classroom featuring lessons taught by certified agriculture teacher, Katie Donohoe, at the Growing Minds Educational Farm. Students can start with the first lessons and watch weekly lessons and interact within the online classroom whenever it fits into their schedule. These principles of sustainable agriculture will add to the success of growing food in all spaces from raised beds to acres of land. The information provided in this course will give students a deeper understanding of how plants work and how we can work with them to create sustainable and productive food production systems. Upon completion of this introductory class, interested participants will have the opportunity to complete more in depth "hands on learning" workdays on the farm.
